Take Me Home: A Tribute to John Denver

Various Artists

Badman

I was never quite sure if I liked John Denver or not, having been mainly exposed to his music through early failed efforts of elementary school teachers to expand our musical horizons. Now, I can appreciate the songs more, having them interpreted by bands such as Low, Red House Painters, and Tarnation… alongside Will Oldham and Rachel Haden. I still don’t know if I’m going to like John Denver straight up, but after hearing these artists create such melancholy and moving versions, I’m definitely going to give him another chance.
