Dancing Ferret Discs
This is a disc from 1996, but it was the only one I could get my hands on. I like albums with lots of words and tons of things to look at and think about as I listen to the music. There are cool bits of poetry scattered all over the CD booklet. This band is like Outer Space Goth, with cool ’80s hooks. I’m quite surprised that a band like this came out of Tallahassee, with all the jocks and sloppy alt-bands up there. All I can say is that it’s really got some substance here, as opposed to so many bands in this style who just try really hard. Some of it reminds me of Rush’s Hemispheres, even the vocal effects. I need to get a hold of these guys and get some of their new stuff.
