Hot Pursuit

The Thrill Department

Teen Beat

Margaret McCartney, formerly of supercute indie popsters Tuscadero, has formed a new band called Hot Pursuit. Her new trio still has a large cute quotient, but backs it up with some serious musical chops. These Washington DC girls weave some nice rock and roll with some slightly incongruous surf motifs. The idea of a surf band in the District of Columbia might be laughable, but this trio keeps the mood light and pulls off the retro sound with flair. The band’s vocals laced with two and three part harmonies are heavenly, and packaged with the fun melodies make for a delightful record.
