Meat Cake #10

by Dame Darcy

Fantagraphics Books

The Renaissance woman Dame Darcy has managed to find the time between her music, acting, animation, and doll making to draw another enchanting volume of her Victorian comic book, Meat Cake. Actually, the art is too good to be a comic book. It[base ‘]s more like a $3.95 art book. The drawings and quirky humor are a reflection of the artist. Dame Darcy is consistently one of the most interesting artists working today. The highlights of this issue are “Is Your Doll Possessed?” and “Planet Blue,” which feature some lovely Mermaid art.
