David Alvarado

United DJs of America Volume 15

DMC

Thank god for the United DJs of America series. In this day and age of commercial electronic music and poor compilation CDs mixed by over-hyped, overpaid, and fairly unskilled DJs, the United DJs of America discs are a breath of fresh and much-needed air that has never failed to disappoint.

David Alvarado is one of the most underrated, skilled DJs in the United States. His discography includes productions and remixes for labels like Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi, Josh Wink and King Britt’s “Ovum,” Stickmen, Peace Frog, and his own record label, Bomb Recordings. Here on Volume 15, Mr. Alvarado serves up a fine plate of deep, dubby house music. The mixing here is nothing short of excellent, with no frills, flashes, or tricks. With tracks from the likes of the Aquanots, To-Ka Project, Petalpusher, DJ Duke, and Beanfield, this album is a masterpiece of deep, sophisticated house music. You can’t go wrong on this one.
