Fifteen
Survivor
Sub City
Hmm, this CD is a benefit for “Prison Radio.” Bigass photo of Mumia on the back cover. While Fifteen has its heart in the right place, and the music is great, this is absolutely relentless in its extremist politicism. For everyone but the crustiest black-clad Food Not Bombs anarcho-peacepunk, even someone like myself who agrees with a lot of the positions espoused, this ends up getting terribly tiresome. Every song protests some real or imagined societal ill. Easy targets like politicians and the rich are demonized. “[L]and acquisition is just a result of Genocide and War.” Yeah right, tell it to my realtor. Puh-leeze. Otherwise good, but lyrically, fatally flawed.
