If It’s Cool With You, It’s Cool With Me

Triple Crown

Pretty solid and upbeat punk pop, but with a sort of garage hard edge. Sometimes it heads straight for the punk energy, like one of those emo bands, but without the emo. Dynamics fast and straight, but the vocals could bring it down, and they almost do, but the guitar never gives in. Switching off at times with a slight snarl against more pop-oriented slices of sound. The harshness of the vocals and the rocked out bass drive and steady drums keep it from getting too poppy, though, making me think of early Soul Asylum being updated for right now. They never really slow down, though they hint at it sometimes. The songs just keep pushing you until you’re breathing at the same speed.
