Lucy Mongrel

Joe

Not quite sure what to do with this. Nina Hagen singing to the Talking Heads doing their African head music. Then the vocals get steady and strong, Lucy Mongrel singing somewhere between Kate Bush and more obscure Canadian Elizabeth Fischer (anyone remember The Animal Slaves?). This is kind of some art rock world beat indie folk, but it’s good. Well written songs that move through with a consistent sound, even if sometimes the styles aren’t. There’s just something really… happy… about this album.
