From the rich French soil that brought electronic greats such as Daft Punk and Air to American stereos comes the first ever full-length album (not on vinyl) by Grand Tourism, a very notable and very non-American mastermind of the true chill out clique. Formed just a few years back, Grand Tourism is made up of two musicians and a sound engineer who may have grown up on tunes from the “Me Generation,” but know how to share the love when it comes to music. Infused with head bobbing beats and the perfect mix of spoken word and vocal play, this self-titled album is 100% factory guaranteed to get your body moving. For an instant physical response, “Snakeplayer” is your best bet; the best danceable tune on the disc is by far “Act Of Love,” but if it’s a more subdued tune you’re after, draw a bath to “Variations Sur Emma Peel.” Best yet, if driving is how you spend most of your time, the slow starting “Jim Clark Theorem” will be a personal anthem (“I love to drive/I love to drive). One more thing: put it in and just try to sit still in traffic, I dare you.
