Campground Effect

Glue Factory

Hit straight away hard by a catchy emo pop rock out riff that makes me think of Braid. It’s a bit darker though, with the vocals and the guitar moving more into shadows, the bass line crawling underneath like a creature waiting to pounce. The dynamics are excellent and cutting, and sometimes the darkness catches on the singer’s throat like some punk Peter Murphy growl. There’s an nice take on The Brains’ “Money Changes Everything” (which was more famously covered by Cyndi Lauper), and the rest of the songs just surround the cover in solidity. It moves delicate across glass without losing any weight, these songs are heavy, and fly by fast.
