Polar Goldie Cats

Polar Night Stress

Up

Songs about Puppy Shrugs, Kitteny Parts, and Arid Turtles• but it’s not as cute as it sounds. Not quite. Almost menacing guitar curls and slips between tribal drums and steady bass line. Bits of melody cut with slashes of distortion. Hints of bands like Modest Mouse, Mars Accelerator, that noisy Northwest sonic indie sound. Well produced lo-fi. There’s a Sonic Youth quality to some of the structures, drifting through chords and noise and shifting melodies. Sometimes short and shattered, sometimes spacious and drifting, but always an adventure.
