Truckstop

Most of the songs on this CD fall into that realm that holds the mellower side of Pedro The Lion. Those plaintive notes and soft spoken vocals that move across quiet heart drums and minimal touches of a guitar melody. Sunday songs for the Northwest indie rocker, looking out at life through a haze of rain. Sometimes it hits upon an older sound, though. Still soft, but very strong, secure. Rising up like Neil Young doing an acoustic and laid back version of “The Needle and the Damage Done.” It hits about that hard, you hear the beauty and you feel the ache.
