Vermont/Centro-matic

Vermont + Centro-matic = Opportunity

Quality Park

Three songs from Centro-matic, three songs from Vermont. Playing some songs written by the other band, they pull a little switch on the styles, but stay true to their own sounds. Centro-matic moves a little rougher, a little more lo-fi around the edges, with a dirt road voice across the plains of sound. Vermont are pushing towards pretty, and you can’t help but feel a little tint of The Promise Ring gleaming on the sides of their songs. The six songs here, though split, still make up a cohesive set, and sitting here, letting the music move through me like a warm July wind through the windows, I can feel the sunshine even in the shadows.
