Gwenmars

Driving A Million

See Thru Broadcasting

Catchy, electronic-touched guitar pop. Slightly wavering off of the straight-ahead path that many pop bands take, Gwenmars coat their songs with a fine layer of fuzz. Fuzz that moves from the fast driving guitar sounds of some of the more upbeat songs to the vocals that almost hide in the mellower moments. Sometimes the guitars crawl like Elastica slowed down to half speed, while the vocals float like Pink Floyd in some Placebo space haze. It’s dark pop, but it still hooks you, reels you in, and by the time you start thinking about how much some of the songs remind you of your favorite grunge band experimenting with Gary Numan sounds• it’s too late. You like it.
