Robert Nanna/Elizabeth Elmore

Split EP

Troubleman Unlimited

Since the disbanding of Sarge, Elizabeth Elmore has not done much recording as she transitions from being a band member to being a solo artist. But she is now ready to make her mark on her own and is taking her first step with a split single with Robert Nanna.

Bob Nanna, formerly of Braid and currently performing with Hey Mercedes, has crafted a tight, infinitely listenable song called “Forgiveness,” proving that men can write thoughtful songs without being sickeningly sensitive.

Elizabeth Elmore will tell you that she isn’t a great songwriter, but her songs tell a different tale. Her contribution to this project is a gem called “You Blink.” It’s a lovely, haunting tune about the last flicker of a relationship laced with some vivid imagery of love and heartbreak. Elmore may not be one of the most prolific songwriters, but she is one of my favorites and “You Blink” is a great example of her unique style.
