Leona Naess

I Tried to Rock You But You Only Roll

MCA

Travel to “Mexico,” disco to “All The Stars,” get mellow to “Sunny Sunday,” lounge out to “Weak Strong Heart” (and avoid the urge to boogie down, cheesy pimp style), appreciate songwriting to “Boys Like You” and melt to “Serenade.” If you enjoy Lisa Loeb, Joni Mitchell, and Tori Amos, you’ll gather a lot from newcomer Leona Naess. Despite the funny title, it’s a CD full of good writing and decent songs all containing an underlying folk sound.
