The Show

Volume One

Side One Dummy

“show”

This hour-long video is comprised of highlights from the first year of this local LA television show. Basically, it’s an hour-long commercial for Side One Dummy Records. But that’s OK, since I happen to like the label, as well as most – if not all – the bands on here: H2O, No Use For a Name, Kill Your Idols, Flogging Molly, Avail, Less Than Jake, 7 Seconds, Madcap, The Ataris, MXPX, and AFI.

The video is mostly short interviews alternating with either live performance video, or in a few cases, an actual studio-produced MTV-type video. All but 7 Seconds and Madcap are interviewed. The host is Joe Sib from 22 Jacks, who asks about the current album/tour, for funny stories about the last tour (rarely getting any funny responses), and “hey, when’s the new album coming out?” He then responds with “Awesome! Let’s see a video• “ Sure, I could’ve used more music and less interviews, but basically, this is fun if you like these bands, and has a lot of live footage of the bands in their element.
