Daft Punk

Alive 1997

Virgin

From the men who revolutionized dance music with their unparalleled innovation of sound, comes their second 2001 release. A limited edition mind-blower, all live, 46 minutes of non-stop mixing of tracks from their bestselling 1997 debut Homework, heed that you have been warned to hang on to your hats. Recorded on November 8th, 1997, during their “Daftendirektour” tour at Birmingham’s Que Club, this CD is something of a miracle. Some fans prefer the new, more heavily filtered, almost poppy sound of Discovery, but Alive 1997 is sure to spark your old school love for our favorite French robots who can do no wrong. 16:20 minutes of “Da Funk” slides into 11:10 minutes of “Rollin’ Scratchin’” and two parts of “WDPK,” eventually finishing off with six minutes of “Alive.” Get it quick, because only 50,000 copies are being sold in the US, and all remaining will be pulled from the shelves on December 31. If you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss this CD.
