Rise

Ten Wings

It is always heartening to see a good band not vanish after their initial CD. Motorbaby, headed by the hard rocking, statuesque Sharon Middendorf, are back with Rise, the follow up to the band’s very fine self-titled debut. They may no longer be on a major label, but they still have their solid rock sound laced with large quantities of style. Sharon Middendorf can certainly trace her lineage to women like Chrissie Hynde and Patti Smith, but she has created her own sound that is serving her quite nicely.
