The Apex Theory

The Apex Theory

Dreamworks

Most groups have a hard enough time just playing their sets on a major tour like the Vans Warped 2001, but Los Angeles natives The Apex Theory decided that their downtime from playing would be best spent recording their self-titled Dreamworks debut. Coolly sophisticated and surprisingly catchy, the EP has the band hoping to ease into their scene and with it, they plan on making long time fans. With the MTV video for “Shhh… (Hope Diggy)” coming out soon and being currently on the road with Alien Ant Farm and various local bands, The Apex Theory is a little more than on the brink. Forming over some twelve years of evolution into what is now alternative rock with a “heavy Mediterranean groove” and some serious promise, their sound is a little predictable with the first single, “Shhh… (Hope Diggy)” teetering on a recycled Aerosmith vibe, but that’s where it ends. Lead singer and writer Andy Khachaturian brings an almost Chili Peppers sound to the group, and the song “Bullshed” is a great, fresh song about being “blessed with pantyhose.” A new flavor around every corner, The Apex Theory is a group that keeps you guessing while still managing to provide quality.
