Deryl Dodd

Pearl Snaps

Lucky Dog

This is a country music disc. This is not alt-country, roots rock, or Americana. This is the country that one can expect to see on CMT or hear on a thousand country stations across the country. That is, it isn’t bad if you take it for what it is, but it isn’t exactly life changing, either. The limitations critics allege that Nashville fosters on many performers seem to be evident here. Although Deryl Dodd does an admirable job of performing and playing the songs (in fact, he wrote many of these tracks), in the end, unless you are a fan, this is not a very memorable disc.
