Human Fortress

Lord of Earth and Heavens Heir

Steamhammer / SPV

A fine German heavy metal epic this is, yes indeed. Hey, the European Power Metal movement is not being ignored by this American Viking…

Lord of Earth and Heavens Heir is a timeless collection, I could imagine, of tune-yarns to be sung around the huge campfires set up on the battlefields just outside of a recently taken castle… Or perhaps they’d be more appropriate after slaying a dragon… Indeed, they sing of mighty deeds in “The Dragon’s Lair.”

This is the debut album for Human Fortress, a six-piece band that includes some of the most intricate metal keyboarding I’ve heard. Heavy metal harpsichord anyone? Their vocals, including the choral parts, are excellent and of epic proportion.
