The A-Sides

Tonight’s Lows

Pint Size

A three-track debut single from man-with-guitar Adam Leland’s band project. Here, he creates an at times thrilling hybrid of Lou Reed and The White Stripes, as seen by some down-and-out pub rock band. The title track is the definitive highlight out of the three, a pumping and garagey affair that gets better with each listening. “Love Song Free Zone” hints towards both The Zombies and The Rolling Stones, but is still far too unassuming to really get it point across, while “Someone Started a Rumor” is somewhat dull British Invasion-era blues revisited. Promising, if a bit uneven.
