Scapegoat Wax

Swax

Hollywood

It’s the holiday season, and I know should be nice and generous. So I thought long and hard how I could politely say that Scapegoat Wax’s latest release Swax is repetitious and boring. Unfortunately, my efforts were of no use. Swax is simply not a good album. Don’t be fooled by “Back Alive,” the album’s first track, which is the only good song on Swax: the rest of the album sounds like a cheap Smashmouth rip off.

For those of you unfamiliar with Scapegoat Wax, they are a blend of hip hop, scratches, and funk, at least that’s what they used to be. On Swax, Scapegoat Way appear to have added a little touch of pop, which doesn’t seem to blend quite so well. Scapegoat Wax used to be a really great band, hopefully they’ll redeem themselves on their next album, making Swax a mere blunder from the past.
