Evergreen Terrace

Burned Alive by Time

Eulogy

Burned Alive by Time presents screamo of the more interesting kind, with ten songs of battered and bruised emo performed in atypically aggressively-fueled manner. And while there are a few rare examples of stifled songwriting – “My Heart Beats in Breakdowns” and “Taking Care of the Dead Fish” specifically – Evergreen Terrace more regularly offer surprisingly exciting songs played with ferocious, engaging energy. Tracks like the fantastic “Dear Live Journal,” “Heavy Number One” and “Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em” give evidence of their crafted writing as well as their twisted playfulness, while an unlisted cover version of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence” prove their hearts are in the right place.
