Wrapped in special effects, Hybrid’s goldfingers – it is impossible to overestimate the influence of John Barry on bands like this – adroitly run over beaucoup technology and bobbing guitars. Using some preset synth sounds to create something urgent, driving, admirable and enigmatic that breaks the mold, they could be enough to make me reconsider my previously hard-line stance against “progressive” or “art” rock.
