This Should Be Interesting
Bush is now saying he lacked information prior to September 11 that if he had, he obviously would have used to prevent the attacks. And that’s what he’ll say to the commission.
If I recall correctly, the thrust of much of the criticism of Bush, most recently from but hardly limited to Clarke, has been that he did have the information but either didn’t know what to do with it or chose not to make it a top priority. I’m not saying anyone said to him “planes are going to be flown into buildings on this date,” but, again IIRC, there was reason to be cautious about flying.
Now this may be wishful thinking, but something tells me it’s about to get real interesting.
