Probably The Only Not-Bad Thing About The Will Smith Movie
…is that the 1963 Isaac Asimov short-story collection, “I, Robot”, is back on the list of bestsellers.
I haven’t seen the film, of course, nor do I plan to. But judging from the trailers and what I’ve read about it, it just looks so…un-Asimov. And with screenplay help by the guy who wrote “Lost In Space” and the last two “Batman” movies, yet. When there’s been a great Harlan Ellison screenplay around for decades.
Plus the fact that it looks like they just slapped Asimov’s title on a remake of “Runaway”…well, as I say. Probably the only not-bad thing about it is that it got Asimov back on the bestseller list.
