Decade

Ten Years of Fierce Panda

Fierce Panda / Brash

One of UK’s great independent labels, Fierce Panda mark their first decade serving Great Music with this release, an 18-track compilation featuring some of their most exciting discoveries. Fierce Panda has always been about pop music in its various guises. The label’s scope is made clear by the variety on this compilation. Bands include the magnificent Bluetones, great tracks by Placebo and Seafood, emo from Hundred Reasons and Six by Seven, comforting pop tones from Coldplay and Keane, US underground faves Death Cab for Cutie and Bright Eyes and the eccentric Polyphonic Spree and Lo-Fidelity Allstars.

All tracks are previously released, obviously, but many are only available in limited format, and this is a good chance not only to discover the remarkable roster of Fierce Panda, but also to check out hard-to-find tracks like Coldplay’s first-ever single “Brothers and Sisters,” the title track from Hundred Reasons’ debut EP, Cerebra, and Keane’s rare second single “This is the Last Time.”
