The Sound of the Crowd

Here’s a thought I had

Since CNN likes to run it’s little tape at the bottom of the screen so much, why can’t they run one during the debates? One that fact-checks the candidates while they’re still speaking? I mean, if they are interested in providing analysis (I know, I know…I said if).

Of the millions of people who watch the debates I don’t know how many read blogs like this one or other fact-checks. So why not put important context of the candidate’s statements on the screen while the voters are watching them on TV?

I don’t mean a long string of text, just a short statement of truth, and probably a plug for CNN.com if the viewer wants details.

How off-base am I?
