squabbling over Schiavo
My biggest interest in this case remains not the specifics of it, which I don’t care about and shouldn’t have have to–but that the GOP could so completely misjudge how it was going to make them look, and what the rest of the country, including conservatives, would really feel.
It would be what a friend of mine calls “a delicious backfire,” if only there wasn’t something you could count on even more than the Republicans overreaching: The public’s short memory, not to say stupidity.
“How this happen? We vote President big man. Not stupid!”
