Et Les Haut Sommets

K

Hey, is anyone missing a Spaghetti Western sound track? That’s the question all Europe will be asking after Angelo Spencer finishes his upcoming tour. His instrumental tracks mix surf guitar and Sergio Leone and project moods I wish I had moving images to accompany. He conveys driving intensity, languid exploration, a mysterious woman in red who doesn’t appear, and a bar fight complete with a chair through the big glass mirror. Whipped minor chords and Dick Dale single-string solos trample over a completely cheesy drum beat to complete this arty-farty party, and when you drop in they’ll give you a brown paper bag to put over your Olde English 800. I’d love to party with these guys, even if I have to fly all the way to France.
