Marcos Toledo
Winter
Marcos Toledo is a musical artist with a truly unique approach. His sound blurs the lines between jazz and hard bop, with a very dynamic flow that bridges the gap between the classic tone of the genre and an innovative modern style. His most recent release also features contributions from James Robbins as well as Dan Nadeau. Together, these talented performers set out to contribute to the tone and feel of this effort, making for a really special listening experience. The guitar playing on the album is particularly astonishing, and what’s even more striking is definitely the fact that Toledo is incredibly flexible and dynamic as a performer, feeling at ease with different influences throughout the nine songs that fuel the spirit of this effort.
On songs such as “Water Cave” and “This Room,” Toledo set out to create a beautiful dichotomy between complexity and simplicity, straddling the lines between sophistication and creative instincts. This isn’t just music for musicians, but for anybody who loves listening to great music that comes from the heart.
