Westport Public Library Releases First Vinyl from Indie Label Verso Records

In a clear nod to the public service at the heart of librarianship, southwest Connecticut’s Westport Library has gotten itself into the music business.

Westport is certainly not the first town to boast a cool public library — many libraries offer language conversation groups, film workshops, seed libraries, and recording studios — but it absolutely is the first to release a cool yellow-vinyl LP via Verso Studios, The Westport Library’s state-of-the-art, hybrid-analog SSL Recording Studio created by Rob Fraboni (Shangri-La Studios).

Verso Records: Volume One comes out June 3 on bright yellow, limited edition vinyl and features the tri-state area’s sharpest new musical artists.

Release day brings a party at Westport Library’s Trefz Forum with live performances by The Problem With Kids Today (New Haven), Ports of Spain (New Haven), Lulu Lewis duo Dylan Hundley & Pablo Martin (NYC), and Americana artist Kierstin Sieser and a $25 ticket package that gets you the LP and a free drink.

Reserve a spot at Eventbrite, and remember, your library loves you.
