Neil Hamburger

Left for Dead in Malaysia

Drag City

OK, please stop. I can’t listen to this for more than a few minutes at a time. I get the joke, that this guy is so painfully, embarrassingly unfunny that he’s funnier than most comedians who don’t know that they’re not funny, but I’m really not in any mood to listen to this to contemplate what merits humor, the state of stand-up comedy, or whether or not this person is funny on another level not shared with ass jokes, “what’s the deal with…” observations, and “football-in-the-groin” home video humor. I just don’t have the time or patience for this. To give you an idea, Neil Hamburger’s manager sets up this comedy gig in Malaysia, where nobody can understand the comedian’s jokes. So, he just rambles on for an hour or so about absolutely nothing. Drag City, please stick to music. You do that so well. I don’t know. Maybe there’s actually an audience out there somewhere. A very scary audience which I never wish to meet.
