Hybrid

Remix and Additional Production By…

Distinctive

The breakbeat monsters known as Hybrid have shaken their productions affectations for a moment to reveal their discography of recent remixes upon us. Although I tend to be weary of the breakbeat genre, there is something distinctive (no pun intended) about this trio’s productions that makes them all the more irresistible. Running the musical gamut, Hybrid has remixed everyone from Filter to BT to Moby. Yes, those artists and their reworks are all on here. So don’t worry.

The lads have upped the ante on this record by turning it into a megamix of sorts. Flowing from one thundering break and warbling bassline to the next, Hybrid won’t stop the body rock, and neither should you. Perhaps the shining moment is saved toward the latter half, with a sped-up, but no less immense version of Future Sound of London’s classic “Papua New Guinea.” The boys are back and with beats slicker than a jeri curl, they’ve staked their claim in the electronic field.
