A Classic Cartoon Christmas

Volumes One + Too

Nick at Nite/Sony Wonder

It was bound to happen, and I’m glad to see it’s Nick at Nite who’s stepped up to the bat. The music in this set draws from all your fave Xmas specials: the Grinch, Rudolph, A Charlie Brown Christmas… it even digs into less-popular but as-pervasive shows like Year Without a Santa Claus and Santa Claus is Coming To Town. And – sacrilege! – it even goes as far as including the hilarious “We Wish You A Hairy Chestwig” from the Ren & Stimpy “Crock O’ Christmas” show…

Obviously, this is potent stuff, and if nostalgia were regulated, you’d need a pretty hefty prescription to purchase either of these records. The malls may have the traditional Xmas music market clinched, but nothing can trigger those warm fuzzy post-unwrapping memories like the music on these discs. Indispensable in every seasonal music collection.
