J. Lee Barrrister

Matter of Conscience

Mr. Barrister should do well in the coffeehouse circuit, or any venue where his audience’s attention would be more focused on what he’s saying that on dancing or ordering drinks. Choosing topics more controversial than love and heartache, J. Lee Barrister sets forth some opinions, bold not because of their content but because more people are concerned with setting poetry to music than about singing what’s on their mind. The CD experience – almost an hour of adequate arrangements and Barrister’s carefully modulated voice – is definitely a bit too draining for private listening. J. Lee Barrister, P.O.
