Three Mile Pilot

Another Desert Another Sea

Headhunter/Cargo

Three Mile Pilot return to the label they started on, after getting a mighty strong dose of the patented Major Label Snub on their previous outing. Fortunately, nothing has changed the band’s unique low undulating rumble – the two basses, drums, and occasional piano bully the guitar to the background, and that makes me happy. A strong prog-rock ear for making songs long without becoming long-winded also helps Three Mile Pilot achieve a soothing trance-like effect without resorting to repetition and fuzziness. Production, as always, is impeccable, with the bulk of the tracks overseen by Steve “Pigeonhed” Fisk, and a couple by San Diego whiz kid Mark Trombino. Musically and melodically different. Cargo Records, 4901-906 Morena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92117-3432
