A Perfect Murder

A Perfect Murder stars Michael Douglas and Gwenyth Paltrow. Both these stars bring baggage with them to this movie, and they seem an odd match. They play a married couple, and it’s hard too imagine how this could ever have been a love match because of both age and temperament. They are both rich and they are both selfish. She is tired of being control by him, so she has an affair. He finds out and tries to control the situation by arranging her murder. There will be lots of twists and turns before this is resolved. He and she might even love each other.

This is based on the Alfred Hitchcock movie, Dial M For Murder, but the plot is quite different, so you can’t predict the ending that way. The problem is, did they come up with a better ending? Should they have just left well enough alone? For me, the twists and turns in this film come to a dead end.

Both bold experiment and colossal failure in the 1960s, Esperanto language art house horror film Incubus returns with pre-_Star Trek_ William Shatner to claim a perhaps more serious audience.
