Mad Caddies
Duck and Cover
Fat Wreck Chords
When a band has the right chemistry, karma and (insert your adjective here), things just seem to work effortlessly and sound terrific, regardless of age. Thus, the formula for the “twenty-something” punk/ska Mad Caddies from Santa Barbara. Yet, they are anything but your next punk-come-lately Californians. The Mad Caddies got it goin’ on, and it is loudly evident on this, their second release.
A solid horn section accompanies a compatible rhythm section and vocals that are an enhancement. This may seem a simplistic statement, but it is the very equation a band must solve to be “successful,” without an element of the music lacking. Little, if any, is sub-par here. The Caddies’ got a gem from start to finish! What does all this mean to you? Well, after having reviewed Duck and Cover well before its release date, YOU don’t have to waste another moment getting to your local disc merchant and scoring! What’s more, they will be “ducking” into town in August to “cover” the Warped Tour (sorry, couldn’t resist the wordplay). Fat Wreck Chords, P.O.
