If you have been searching for music in the styles of old Metallica, Judas Priest, or Megadeth, look no more; this is just right for you! This album is packed with aggression, crunchy and loud guitars, and flailing drums. Despite the not-so-impressive vocals, this album presents itself well – thanks to well-written rhythm parts, and intelligent use of guitars.
Lots to be told about the guitar playing in this album… Dan Delucie and Perry Grayson, guitarists on this album, have apparently been influenced by bands/guitarists like Metallica (of old), Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen, Al DiMeola, MSG, and Joe Satriani. And these guys have learnt their lessons quite well from their influences – it shows in their playing here. Although solos are few and far between, speed picking and power-chords fill this thing up to the brim. (There are countless spots where power-chord rhythms are very reminiscent of Metallica’s Master Of Puppets or … And Justice For All). Their phrasings are pretty good, playing is intense, and it all fits well in the general theme of this album.
Brian Craig, the drummer, has done an OK job (Hey, you can’t expect all drummers to be like Neil Peart!). James Rivera, the vocalist, tends to sound a lot like Rob Halford, of ex-Judas Priest fame, but there’s room for improvement and creativity.
