Temperamental

This is a collection of tracks recorded at up-and-coming NYC hotspot Arlene Grocery, live from the stage through the month of August 1998. Some pretty good bands played that month – Cardinal Woolsey, Kitty in the Tree (their “Starfucker” is brilliant), and Johnny Society all have tracks that stand out. The rest range from fairly good to merely tolerable. If there’s one overall binding quality to all this music is that it’s harder-edged pop. I can’t help but think that a couple or more of these bands are destined for greatness… so this would be a sneak peek, if you will.
