Bluetip

Join Us

Dischord

The second album of Bluetip’s post-hardcore again finds them based firmly in a rock foundation – there aren’t too many surprises on here. It’s punchy, it rocks, it careens about at times a bit too slowly for me, but the whole time it’s tied together by a thread of “this rocks.” Thickly textured with DC-ish melodies, but rock nonetheless. I greatly prefer the songs that are faster or upbeat (“Salinas,” “F-,” “Join Us”) over the slower, noisy songs that carouse about (“Carbon Copy”), which I generally end up skipping. They toured a few years ago, and shared a seven inch with Kerosene 454, which I find very fitting.
