Let the Darkness Fall

Secretly Canadian

A friend was giving me a massage one of the first times I heard this, and I think I paid more attention to this album half the time. To let you know what you’re getting into here, let me point out that Burness and Daniell play in San Agustin, which operate as a drone-rock three-piece who sound like their record collection consists solely of Loren MazzaCane albums. Suzanne Langille’s voice is insistent among all the bent notes, but it’s not until her monologue two-thirds of the way through that you really stop and listen to her intently.
