Play

V2

Here’s our friend Moby, back from his adventures as a crazed rock guitarist. What a relief to see that he’s back to excelling at what he does best: laying down the grooves to put me in the mood. Play hits a collective nerve drawing from a union between bluesy gospel and roots-y dancehall rhythm. As an alternative (or addition) to one’s listening pleasure, the j-card contains a soapbox selection of essays by the artist, advocating his personal philosophies. Why not? The really good news is that despite its mass-market blitz, “Bodyrock” is actually the weakest of the 18 tracks. Guaranteed, nonetheless, to be a surefire crowdpleaser.
