The Fastbacks

The Day That Didn’t Exist

spinART

Now moving into their 20th year(!), Seattle’s Fastbacks continue to give us a reason to love the town that brought you grunge. Because they aren’t. If you don’t know about them, that’s a shame. With girl vocals and two guitars buzzing away, Fastbacks play a poppy punk that has some roots in 60’s garage (and listen for the Who-inspired rave-up at the end of “I Was Stolen”) and girl groups, but never sounds retro. Fourteen songs guaranteed to at least lift your spirits and more probably have you bouncing around and singing along. Buy it.
