Canku Ota (Many Paths)

Contrary to popular belief, just because a person is “Native American” doesn’t mean we know much about the hundreds of other indigenous nations of America other than our own tribal affiliation. As a home school teacher of my two teenage sons, I decided it was to be an extremely important part of our curriculum to learn about other indigenous nations of America, rather than just our own Cherokee (Tsa la gi) heritage. That’s where Canku Ota came to become a huge asset in my teaching over the past few years. Originally designed by members of various tribal peoples for the teaching of “The Red Path” to our younger children that were losing the culture and heritage in today’s merging society of all cultures, it is now a full blown Web site for all ages that are in need or wanting to learn the true history and heritage of the indigenous peoples of the Americas. Everything from history, heritage, the arts, cooking and recipes, and general tribal information can be found on this ever-changing and enlightening Web site. Highly recommended for all that want to learn more about the truths of the indigenous peoples of America; even for all of you people from the Wannabe Nation!
