Lunar Modular Unit

The Bionic Milk Plant

This is the second brown25 record I’ve heard, and it continues the trend of weird unclassifiable stuff. It shares a lot of elements with Beck, in that it hardly matters whether a sound is acoustic, electric or digital. “Gotherific” is a great portrait of a cliché, with a chorus of “I won’t go back to the multicolored girls/ now I’ve had a smidgen of a chick like her.” And “Dirt Nap” features a whacked acoustic slide caroming against a carefully arranged background. Very way out there.
