Slumber Party

Psychedelicate

Kill Rock Stars

This Detroit girl band does not sound like a Detroit girl band. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just nicely different. Smooth melodies that take me drifting somewhere between Mazzy Star and The Velvet Underground. There’s also some dreamy moments that are almost like ’60s pop hallucinations, and keyboards that make you slide of on some twisted Beach Boys trip. Some of the vocal turns across the rhythms make you think of a nice flavor of European pop, but the American vibe is never lost. It’s floating and dreaming across the pop landscapes, and the harmonies just break your heart with a smile. Psychedelicate, indeed.
